Ambrit boys 5-2 St. George's boys

Against a weak home team, Ambrit's physical superiority allowed them to win their first competitive match of the year with a solid but uninspired performance.
Having said that, their first goal was the result of some fine teamwork. Mattia won the ball well on the right and he set Simone up for a shot which was well saved by the goalkeeper, but Antoine was on hand to tap in the rebound. Ambrit kept the English team under pressure and the second goal was a thunderous shot from Simone. The ball rifled past a bewildered goalkeeper.
Mattia continued to play well on the right and he almost scored but his shot came back off the post. St. George's then nabbed an unexpected goal but Simone restored the two goal lead, scoring directly from a corner. The captain led by example today and helped to squeeze that extra effort out of his players today.
For the rest of the first half, Danyal and Davide continued to defend well and Nawin patrolled the left flank with menace. Emilio did a lot of running and a lot of good, quiet work in the middle. Andrea was untroubled in goal.
Ambrit continued to dominate in the second half but the play was now more scrappy. Luca Cerri and Luca del Vecchio added two more goals; Danilo came on and made a couple of great saves; Cerri hit the bar too, but there was no real threat from the hosts.
