Man Utd 3 - 1 Man City

Thursday lunchtime was lit up by one of the most exciting matches of the year as the two Manchester teams clashed in a game that was fierce, even and full of incident and some cracking performances from Mattia (Utd) and Jonathan (City) in midfield showed that Ambrit will be a force to be reckoned with for the next three years.
Oliver opened the scoring early on with a fine shot and then sent Simone in for a good chance shortly afterwards. Simone however opted for a lob when a simpler solution was wanted and the chance was wasted. City came back into the game and their attacks were rewarded when Luca dV popped up to sweep a loose ball into the net.
Mattia tested Christian shortly afterwards but the goalkeeper made a good save and Andrea made two chances for himself at the other end, one of which was saved by a positive Antoine in goal while the other went over.
The captains both began the second half brightly, Max forcing a save from Antoine and Oliver hitting a good shot which Christian could only tap down to the waiting Simone: 2-1.
Simone continued to make good runs down the right and he whacked a good shot off the bar; Andrea responded at the other end with another shot but his aim was high again.
City poured forward and Antoine was forced to make another good save from Max. And then it happened... confusion in the United goalmouth.... the ball deflected once... twice.... and then to the feet of Luca dV with the goalkeeper already beaten.... the whole school held its breath as they waited for Luca to tap the ball in.... and then the whole school watched as the ball went wide. Until then, Luca had played a good game but won't forgive himself for the miss.
With City now spent, Simone sent Mattia through on Christian in goal. Mattia went around him, Christian took him down and was sent off. Oliver scored from the resulting free kick to round off a deserved victory. BEST PLAYER POINTS: Mattia 8, Antoine 6, Jonathan 5, Simone 2
