This was a match dominated by some excellent goalkeeping performances with Player of the Match Emma H. making a particularly memorable save in the first half, flinging herself low to her left to keep out a well-struck shot.At the other end Hanna also made some good saves in the first half and, when Lavinia replaced her in the second half, the 6th grader played confidently too.
Joanna and Elif, the two captains, worked tirelessly to inspire their teams. Besiktas had more scoring opportunities but Elif herself, and Aurora, wasted some good chances.
The point gained by Besiktas sees them qualify for next Thursday's final while the Swedes can only await the outcome of the Werder-Ajax clash next Wednesday to find out if they finished third or fourth.
