After another controversial morning's work, FIGC referee Corcoran is under pressure to resign from his post as Chief Tournament Referee. Sources close to the Federation's disciplinary committee report that officials have been increasingly exasperated by Corcoran's incomprehensible decisions, culminating in last Saturday's award of a penalty to the general amazement of players and spectators alike. Reacting angrily to the decision, Coach Calento questioned the referee's sanity and expressed solidarity with his defenders who "committed not one foul in the penalty area today".
