A first defeat of the season was fully deserved today, as almost every player on the Ambrit team looked out of form. In the first minute, Monetverde struck the crossbar from a free kick and then scored a few seconds later. Ambrit managed to exert period of pressure then but Monteverde scored a lucky second goal on the break. The hosts continued to win all the second balls and a third goal came after 18'. Ambrit pulled one back before half time through Edoardo. In the second half, more early pressure from Ambrit was in vain; Monteverde attacked and were clinical again: 4-1. Things might have worsened very quickly but for Tor: playing in goal today, he pulled off some second-half heroics, making at least five crucial saves. To their credit, Ambrit did keep trying, did keep running, did keep tackling. They pulled the score back to 4-2 and hope was briefly rekindled... before being finally snuffed out by a fifth Monteverde goal.
